GREAT WOLF LODGE HOSTS GRAND CELEBRATION TO
MARK OPENING OF THE TENTH LOCATION

Resort Includes First Indoor Waterpark Resort in the Pacific Northwest

GRAND MOUND, Wash. (April 25, 2008) -- The indoor waterpark craze has officially found its way to the West Coast, with tonight’s grand opening of Great Wolf Lodge® in Grand Mound, Wash. a spectacle worthy of the growing reputation of Great Wolf Resorts, Inc.®, the destination hotel’s parent company headquartered in Wisconsin. Great Wolf Lodge Grand Mound is a partnership with The Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation.

Dubbed the “VIF” (“Very Important Family”) Celebration, resort staff made certain this grand opening would be an evening to remember. The highlight of the evening was a live concert by Radio Disney artist Jordan Pruitt, best known for her tours with the Cheetah Girls and High School Musical: The Concert, who also signed autographs for resort guests. Additional grand opening festivities included a family-style dinner, self-guided tours of the resort’s amenities, and a colorful beach ball drop.

The festivities continued in the waterpark, with guests enjoying all the rides, slides, and splashdowns offered in Bear Track Landing, the signature 60,000 square-foot indoor waterpark.

Derrek Kinzel, general manager of the resort, explained that Great Wolf Lodge had a “soft opening” a few weeks ago, but tonight’s bash marked the official grand opening and entrance into the Pacific Northwest community.

“If there’s one thing we do very well it’s to celebrate life’s occasions, both big and small.  This was a big occasion for us, to bring our brand of waterpark fun to this region of the country,” said Kinzel.

In turn, the welcome given by area residents and businesspeople to the Great Wolf Lodge family has been remarkable, acknowledged John Emery, CEO of Great Wolf Resorts.

“We pride ourselves on serving up genuine hospitality, and we’ve been honored to receive that in return from everyone in the community,” said Emery.

Resort guests were also able to tour the property to see the various amenities. Amenities of the resort include the ElementsSpa, featuring a full menu of Aveda® treatments including facials, massages, and wraps. For the 12-and-under set, Great Wolf Lodge features a spa designed just for kids. Called Scooops®  Kid Spa, it offers ice cream-themed manicures and pedicures.

The resort also has a children’s craft and activity center and an arcade with more than 100 videogames. Great Wolf Lodge Grand Mound features a new attraction called “gr8_space”, a tech center with Internet stations, movies, and musical entertainment aimed at the tween and teen crowds. Scheduled to open later this summer is MagiQuest, a live-action, fantasy adventure game.

The lodge includes almost 400 northwoods-themed suites, many offering in-room forts for the kids complete with bunk beds. The largest sleeps up to eight people, with several suites featuring fireplaces, lofts, balconies, and whirlpool tubs. All suites feature in-room microwaves and refrigerators.

Guests also have several dining options onsite. There are two sit-down restaurants:  Camp Critter Bar & Grille and The Loose Moose Cottage, as well as quick service options like Pizza Hut Express® and Starbucks®, plus the resort’s own Bear Claw Café confectionary and Spirit Island Snack Shop.

Through June 20, 2008, Great Wolf Lodge is continuing the grand opening celebration by offering a grand opening special with rates for a Family Suite starting at $199 per night, which includes waterpark passes.

Great Wolf Lodge Grand Mound is located at the intersection of I-5 and US-12 on Old Highway 99 between Seattle and Portland.  Resort information, including special rates, can be found online at www.greatwolf.com or by calling 1.800.640.WOLF (9653).
